Jean E. (Ciccaglione) Consolo, 96, of Newington, passed away peacefully at Evergreen Health Care Center in Stafford Springs, CT, on October 4, 2018. Born in Hartford, February 4, 1921. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Martin “Shug” Consolo on Decemeber 29, 1996, with whom she had a fairy tale love story. They loved to play cards, dance together, entertain, and travel the world. Jean was also predeceased by seven sisters and four brothers. Although she could never have children of her own, she loved and adored all of her nieces and nephews, and is survived by her very special niece June Smeltz that was like a daughter to her and her husband Richard, whom both cared for her in her later years.
Relatives and friends may gather on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Browne Memorial Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, Connecticut, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in St. Bernard Church 426 Hazard Ave. Enfield, Connecticut, Entombment will take place in Mt. Saint Benedict Cemetery Bloomfield, Connecticut where she will be reunited with her eternal love Martin.
