Obituary for Albert "PeeWee" R Charrette

Albert “PeeWee” R. Charrette, 82, of Enfield, died peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Saco, Maine on December 30, 1932, Albert was the son of the late Elude and Marie (Michaud) Charrette. Albert lived in Enfield for over fifty years and retired from Carolina Freight Carrier in 1993. He proudly served his country with the United States Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict. Albert was a member of the Teamsters Local 671, was an avid coin collector, enjoyed dancing, and followed the Boston Red Sox and UCONN Women’s Basketball. He is survived by his beloved wife of thirty-three years, Helen L. (LaForest) Robbins Charrette; his children, Marie J. Zapolski and her husband, Bruce of Enfield, and Robert P. Charrette and his wife, Nancy of Windsor Locks; step-children, Robert F. Robbins and his wife, Donna of Enfield, Jo-Ann L. Robbins of Virginia, Marilyn V. Robbins and her husband, Karl Mack of Southbury, Jean M. Robbins of Springfield, MA, and James E. Robbins of Enfield; his brother, Edward Charrette and his wife, Mabel of Florida; sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Albert was predeceased by his first wife, Catherine L. (Strickland) Charrette; two brothers and his sister. Albert’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 4:00 until 6:30 p.m. followed by a Service of Remembrance at 6:30 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, CT 06082. A private burial in Maine will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org.
