Frank  DeLuca
Frank DeLuca, born April 18, 1916, died at home Sunday, November 16, 2014. He was predeceased by his wife Edith of 74 years, his son Christopher and grandsons Tyler Bromley Gothie and Dana Martin. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Francesco and Antoinette (Mariano) DeLuca. He grew up with five sisters and five brothers. He graduated from Rhode Island State College with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pennsylvania State College. He met and married his wife Edith in State College, PA in 1940 and they move to Springfield, MA where he worked for American Bosch (eventually UTX) for 29 years. He also worked for FIPCO, American Pump, Stanadyne, Interstate Diesel Service, Inc. and as an independent engineering consultant until the age of 90. He was granted numerous Patents on fuel injection applications, co-authored “Fuel Injection and Controls for Internal Combustion Engines” and was active in the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers). He loved gardening, cooking and spending time with family.
He leaves a daughter Sherry (Bruce) Bromley of Longmeadow, MA, sons Patrick (Rose) DeLuca of Newburgh, NY and Nicholas (Mary) DeLuca of Ellicott City , MD, eight grandchildren, Shawn Bromley, Tracy (Michael) Gothie, Lynn Bromley, Tina (John) Gray, Kristin (Sean) Fitzgerald, Matthew (Eileen) DeLuca, Tiwanda Martin and Tony Martin and twelve great grandchildren, Chelsea Gothie Chloe Gothie, Samantha Hilton, Owen Hilton, Carly Hilton, Abigail Gray, William Gray, Keegan Fitzgerald, Riley Fitzgerald, Nate DeLuca, Maya DeLuca, Sean Martin and Reggie Martin. A visitation period will be held on Monday (Nov. 24, 2014) from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church corners of Pearl & High Streets, Enfield, CT, on Monday November 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will takie place in St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Home & Community Health Services, Inc. Hospice Program, P.O. Box 1199 Enfield, CT 06083-1199.
